Directions by Road:
Please use the map above to find us. Douglas Boatyard is found at the very end of Becconsall Lane, in the village of Hesketh Bank.
Directions from the Irish Sea:
Enter the River Ribble and head inland toward Preston for approximately 6 miles to where the River Douglas enters the River Ribble from the south. Follow the River Douglas for approximately 3 miles to Douglas Boatyard. Please telephone us on 01772 812462 before setting off to make sure there will be a visitor's mooring available, and also for any further navigational advice you may need.
Please note that the recommended route for entering the River Ribble from the Irish Sea is now via the main channel. The old method of entering via the "Hole in the Wall" is no longer recommended.
Directions from the Leeds-Liverpool Canal:
Follow the Rufford branch of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal to its end at Tarleton Lock. At a suitable state of the tide, lock through onto the River Douglas and follow the river downstream for about 1 mile. Please telephone us on 01772 812462 before setting off to make sure there will be a visitor's mooring available.
