Douglas Boatyard has been building and repairing boats for over 100 years, since 1904 when the boatyard was established by two brothers following a fire which destroyed their original boatyard in Southport. The yard now employs a number of skilled and experienced shipwrights, boat builders and boatyard operatives, and the services offered include:
Boat Building
Douglas Boatyard is the home of Predator Boats, builders of the best-selling range of Predator fishing and sports boats, and Redfinn fishing boats.
Boat Repairs and Maintenance
A full boat repair and maintenance service is provided including engine and stern gear installation and all repairs to boats in grp and timber.
Yacht Rigging
Yacht rigging services include roll swaging and Talurit splicing.
Osmosis Treatment
Douglas Boatyard is an International Paints approved osmosis treatment centre.
Boat Painting
Douglas Boatyard is also an International Paints approved boat painting centre.
Boat Moorings
Pontoon and jetty moorings for vessels of all types.
Boat Storage
Hardstanding storage for boats up to about 17 tonnes.
Slipway Services
The slipway at Douglas Boatyard is capable of handling vessels up to about 30 tonnes. We regret that we do not have a slipway suitable for cars towing boat trailers.
Chandlery
Douglas Boatyard offers a modern and well-stocked chandlery.
