The Predator 160 is a solid and practical sea boat, designed
with performance in mind and highly respected in the boating industry.
But you don't have to take our word for it, here are some of the things
which independent boating professionals and experienced sea anglers have
written about the Predator 160:-
"This
boat will suit the vast majority of small-boat anglers who fish British
inshore and offshore waters"
"Eventually
the narrow creek joined the Ribble and I was able to open the throttle
and really get to grips with this boat . . . WOW!"
These are quotes
from the January 2005 SeaAngler
magazine in a boat test carried out by Dave Lewis, and as SeaAngler
magazine said at the time, "
. . . and he doesn't say that about a lot of the boats he tests."
"The hull
would probably best be described as a planing boat hybrid. For my money
the Predator has more of a V-hull feel about it than a semi-cathedral.
. . but whatever the terminology, the overall effect works, in fact, it
works exceptionally well."
Phill Williams, Boat Fishing Monthly, January 2005.
"Often
I find a small, independent boat manufacturer working quietly away building
a truly-superb product. Douglas Marine Ltd, builders of the Predator 160,
are a great example. Here we have a basic, fast, well-made fishing boat
that would suit the vast majority of British small-boat anglers. . . The
Predator is a cracking little angling boat and I would give it serious
consideration were I looking to buy, especially if it was a first-time
craft."
Dave Lewis, "Finest in the fleet", SeaAngler
magazine, March 2005
Protective Predator
In support of your
wonderful article on the Predator 160, I have owned one since November.
I have taken it round Portland Bill and to the edge of the race, where
the tide was on the change and 4-5ft waves were crashing over the cabin.
It is the most stable boat I have owned. Full marks to Douglas Marine.
Steve Williams, Bristol.
